New Release: Dirk Setton “Autonomie und Willkür” (De Gruyter, 2021)

We are very glad to give notice of the release of the book Autonomie und Willkür. Kant und die Zweideutigkeit der Freiheit by Dirk Setton (De Gruyter, 2021)

From the publisher’s website:

Kant’s theory of freedom reveals a tension between two different forms of the will, namely between autonomy, which combines free will and rational insight, and caprice, which consists in a freedom from normative determination. Dirk Setton’s study examines how these opposed elements of freedom nonetheless go hand in hand with one another.
