CFA (Early Career Speakers): Hegel and Metaphysics (September 7-8, Oxford)

We are glad to announce that the annual conference of the Hegel Society of Great Britain on the topic “Hegel and Metaphysics” will be held in Oxford on September 7-9, 2017.

 

Submission deadline: April 3.

Notification of acceptance by May 8.

 

The Hegel Society of Great Britain invites submissions from current and recent PhD students for the annual conference of the Hegel Society of Great Britain. Two slots are available for junior researchers. Papers are welcome on the theme of Hegel and Metaphysics (including, but not restricted to, Hegel’s relation to Aristotle, Spinoza, Kant and contemporary metaphysics).

Applicants must either be currently registered for a PhD or have passed their viva / defense since January 1, 2015.

Presentation time will be 25 minutes + 20 minutes for discussion.

Abstracts (no more than 500 words) should be sent in MSWord as an attachment to: hegelconference@kuleuven.be

Abstracts should be prepared for double-blind review by removing any identification details. The body of the email should include the following details: name, paper title, institutional position, affiliation, email address, name of the principal supervisor. Additionally, current PhD students should state when they began their PhD, and recent PhD students should provide the date of their viva / defense and the names of their examiners.
