The event is organized by Christoph Binkelmann, Doris Frank, Marcela García Romero, Philipp Höfele, Vicki Müller-Lüneschloß, Jesper Lundsfryd Rasmussen.

In honour of the 250th anniversary of Schelling’s birth, the international congress planned for 2025 will bring together Schelling scholars from all over the world to discuss his work and its relevance today. Thematically, the focus will be not only on specific chronological phases or thematic focal points, but also, more generally, on Schelling’s systematic form of thought, which retained a central role throughout his life. According to Schelling, the “system” offers the only appropriate form, through which the world as well as its subject areas in nature, art, history and religion can be represented. As he claimed in his “Ages of the World”: “only in the system, in the organic context of the living whole, is truth.” Philosophy, as an organic representation of an organic world, is thus the only means by which we can truthfully interpret and understand the world of systems within the system of the world.
