Call for applications: 2 Doctoral Studentships on Epistemology and/or Kant and Germany Idealism, University of Cologne, Germany (Deadline March 12th)

We are pleased to announce that a call for applications is open for two PhD studentships  at the University of Cologne in collaboration with the CONCEPT (Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition) on Epistemology and/or Kant and German Idealism.

The University of Cologne invites applications for three 3-year Doctoral Studentships in conjunction with the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT).

AOS: Epistemology and/or Kant and Germany Idealism.

Requirements. To qualify for the position, you must have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in philosophy (or a related discipline) and some expertise in one of the areas listed above. You may apply if you have completed all of your degree requirements, but have not yet been formally awarded the degree.
Knowledge of the German language is helpful but not required. It is not necessary to have the citizenship of an EU member state.

Job Description. The successful candidate will have an active research project in at least one of the areas listed above work and will work closely with the other members of CONCEPT. The position comes with no teaching duties because it is funded by a grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly attend team meetings and lectures and to help organize events held at CONCEPT.

Job title, salary & start date. The German job title is “Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter” and the salary level is 13 TV-L, 65%. The net salary depends on age, tax level (family situation), and years of experiences. The minimum annual net salary is 18.248 Euros. The latest possible start date is July 1, 2018.
