Call for papers: Hegel Bulletin Special Issue 2018 “Hegel and 20th-Century French Philosophy”

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the special issue 2017 of Hegel Bulletin devoted to the topic «Hegel and 20th-Century French Philosophy». Among confirmed contributors are Stephen Houlgate and Alison Stone.

Contributions dealing with any figure in the 20th-Century French tradition with relation to Hegel are welcomed, including, for example, De Beauvoir, Merleau-Ponty, Levinas, Deleuze, Bergson, and Badiou.

The range of themes of possible relevance to this special issue extends across metaphysics, social and political theory, ethics, history, religion, and aesthetics. Accepted submissions will illuminate specific parts of both Hegel and 20th-Century French Philosophy. Historical papers that base their argument on careful textual analysis and reconstructive papers that frame their argument in the context of contemporary debates are equally welcomed. Authors are encouraged to contact one of the guest editors in advance of submission if they are unsure of whether their papers are appropriate for the special issue.

All papers (7000 words to 10000 words) will be double-blind refereed and must be submitted within 1st July 2017 to e-mail address: hbsi2018@gmail.com.

Further information are available at this link and/or contacting one of the editors of this special issue of Hegel Bulletin: Paul Giladi (paul.giladi@gmail.com; paul.giladi@sheffield.ac.uk) and Henry Somers-Hall (Henry.Somers-Hall@rhul.ac.uk).
