CFP: “Philosophies of Nature: Schelling and his Contemporaries” (University of Liverpool, 15th-16th June, 2016)

We are pleased to announce the call for participation for the post-graduate and early-career workshop entitled  «Philosophies of Nature: Schelling and his Contemporaries». The workshop will take place at the Uniersity of Liverpool, on 15th-16th June 2016. Deadline: 10th April 2016.

The keynote speaker will be Dalia Nassar, author of The Romantic Absolute (University of Chicago Press, 2013). The texts under consideration will be Goethe’s Metamorphosis of Plants, Schelling’s First Outline of a System of the Philosophy of Nature, and Eschenmeyer’s Spontaneity = Wold-Soul.

Full funding for participation in this workshop is provided by the British Academy. It includes day refreshments, three-night’s accommodation, an evening meal and all travel expenses within the UK. Participants will be asked to give a short presentation on the material under discussion to begin the sessions and also to contribute to the project website www.schelling.org.uk.
