The status of logic is a long debated problem in the research on classical German philosophy. This issue is still controversial and it is the main topic of a recent publication, which is entitled La question de la logique dans l’Idéalisme allemande.

Lejeune The book came out of a conference held in Brussels in 2011 and it includes the contributions of international Kant’s, Fichte’s and Hegel’s scholars: Andreas Arndt, Andrea Bellantone, Christian Berner, Alessandro Bertinetto, Lu De Vos, Elodie Djordjevic, Elena Ficara, Jean-Marie Lardic, Guillaume Lejeune, Jean-Christophe Lemaitre, Bernard Mabille, Gilles Marmasse, Volker Peckhaus, Marc Peeters, Jean-Michel Pouzin, Cristiana Senigaglia, and Charles Theret.

Far from reducing the debate to the one-sided thesis of the incompatibility between formal logic on the one hand, and transcendental and speculative logic on the other, the articles included in the book shed light on the tensions among these three paradigms of logic and on the way through which Kant’s and Hegel’s conceptions of thought contribute to re-define the status of logic.

The editor of the book is Guillaume Lejeune, who is scientific collaborator at l’Université Libre de Bruxelles. The book is published by Georg Olms Verlag.
